Welcome to the web-site for the Heart of the Forest Festival, voted the ‘Best Community Event´ in Leicestershire and Rutland. This is an annual summer event, hosted in the village of Measham, for all of the communities that reside in the central area of the new National Forest.
The Heart of the Forest Festival
The Festival is a well-established event that attracts many thousands of visitors every year, all eager to witness the fantastic spectacle of the largest street parade in rural Leicestershire, followed by an afternoon of world class entertainment on the Festival Grounds. ‘on your doorstep’ and free of charge.
Every year, headline acts are secured to entertain the visiting crowds, ensuring that every age group is catered for, and due to the generosity of local businesses and other funding streams, access to this day of celebration is FREE for everyone.
The date for the next Heart of the Forest Festival has been set – Saturday 23rd June 2012, and through these pages you will be able to find all the information you need, whether you just want to visit on the day, or perhaps join in the fun and enter into the Parade. We will also open up the booking process for stalls and pitches from January 1st 2012, so don´t delay, as we are expecting a high demand for the limited spaces available.
We also choose a special theme for every Festival, and reaching a decision for our event next year wasn´t difficult. In honour of the UK hosting the world´s finest athletes in the summer of 2012, the theme of The Heart of the Forest Festival will be ‘The Olympics´.
