Hanson Red Bank
The expertise of Red Bank has been gathered over more than a century.
The original Red Bank Brick and Tile works in the heart of Leicestershire countryside overcame flooding in the quarry during World War 1 to flourish once again in the 1920's.
Hanson Red Bank as it is now known boasts a 200 acre site at Measham and is the largest manufacturing plant of its kind in the U.K.
Red Bank prepared itself for volume production and installed a 120 metre kiln which holds thousands of products in many different patterns.
Carefully controlled by a computer which monitors conditions throughout the length of the kiln, heat resisting cars move continually through the tunnel 24 hours a day.
Hanson is one of the world’s largest suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry. Aggregates (crushed rock, sand and gravel), ready-mixed and precast concrete, asphalt and cement-related materials and a range of building products including concrete pipes, concrete pavers, tiles and clay bricks.
